I will be visiting WDW with a friend of mine and we are leaving our kids home. Her birthday is just a couple of weeks after we will be there. I've read about the today is my birthday button. What exactly happens if she wears it?

One of the best features of the birthday button is that there is not a set list of things that will happen, so when things do they are truly surprises! My son celebrated his birthday there this June, and he received many birthday wishes from both cast members and guests. While at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe, he had a dessert slide across the counter toward him from a cast member wishing him a happy birthday. I know of other guests who have also received free cupcakes and extra sprinkling of pixie dust confetti at their tables when eating. Oftentimes, characters will acknowledge the birthday pins, too. So in a nutshell, I think your friend will find many happy birthday wishes coming her way and maybe a surprise or two, too!
