Hi! We are visiting WDW for the first time in 2 weks!! (me. my dh. kids ages 6 and 3) We purchased the Disney Dining plan and made reservations for some character dining for the kids. How does the DDP work? Do we get vouchers? Just curious! THANKS

    Hello Francisco!

You must be getting very excited for your first Disney trip! Be sure to stop by guest services to pick up your "1st Visit" buttons to commemorate this special vacation!

Your dining plan credits will be on your Key to the World cards. These cards will also act as your room key, park tickets and can be used to charge purchases to your room if you've placed a credit card on file with your resort.

Most times your server will ask at the beginning of your meal if you're on the dining plan. When the check is brought to your table at the end of your meal, simply give your server one of your cards. They will bring you a receipt which will show how many credits are remaining on your plan. Since gratuity is not included, you can either charge it to your room, leave cash or charge it to a credit card.

If you ever want to check on how many credits you have, you can stop by the front desk of your resort and they will be able to print off a copy for you to have.

The same process is true for redeeming quick service meals and snacks. When you order, just hand over your key and after a quick swipe you'll be all set.

I hope this helps! Have a magical first trip to Disney World!
