We're visiting WDW for the first time and want to visit Typhoon Lagoon. My six year old is not a strong swimmer, can we hire any swimming aids or do we need to bring his along? Do we also need to bring towels?

    Hi Albert,

You are making a great choice with Typhoon Lagoon, I love this water park. Castaway Creek (the lazy river) is one of my daughter's favorite attractions here.  It is a very beautifully landscaped water park (makes you feel like you are in a tropical paradise).

I would recommend bringing your own towels if at all possible. You can rent towels here for a nominal charge, but you will not get that money refunded back to you (so depending on whether you are like me or not, I would go broke, as I love my towels and always seem to need lots of them!). Life Jackets are available at each of the water parks with a deposit necessary from you that will be refunded when you bring it back, or you can give them your driver's licence.

Please let me remind you also that children under the age of 10 years old, must be accompanied at all times by an adult throughout the park.  One last bit of advice, try to arrive here early in the morning (when the park opens).  You will have a much better chance of claiming (hard to find) lounge chairs that have some shaded areas and are not in full sun, as well as a good location for locker rentals (if you require this) and also parking close to the entrance of the park (if you are driving), but most of all enjoy the shorter lines for the different attractions here!

    Have a magical stay!!!
