We're visiting WDW 10/22-10/27 for the first time. My son is 5yrs, & I'm worried w/ the amount of walking we will do, since we are visiting parks back to back. Do you recommend a day off btwn parks or a stroller.

Hi, Natasha! You're coming at a great time of year, and hopefully, you're considering Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. My kids have loved that event through the years, and your little guy is the perfect age for it. You know your son the best and understand what his physical and mental limits are when traveling. For some of my four kids, I could "push" them a little when it came to being tired because they enjoyed themselves so much in the parks. Yet, for some, I physically needed to push them in a stroller in order for them to last throughout the day!

If I were you, I would take a wait-and-see attitude about your son's endurance level. You may even want to take him to a local park or zoo at home to see how long he lasts when he's out and about. Consider it fun research! One of the great things about staying at a Disney resort is that you have the ability to come and go to the parks with added convenience. For our little ones, we like to hit the parks early and then retire to our resort in the afternoons. We return to the parks in the late afternoon or evening to enjoy them when the sun is not so hot. (That is when my kids wear out the easiest is when it's the hottest!)

Since you'll only be in the parks for five days, I recommend sprinkling "down time" in and amongst the days you're there with a few hours out of the parks, or you can try the stroller approach on the second day. For the first day of the trip, I think he's going to be so excited that he'll run on adrenaline until he collapses in his bed that evening!

If you have more questions, let me know...you know where to find me! Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
