    Will be visiting WDW for the first time Oct 2017, how do I even go about planning what parks & when & also how far in advance do you have to book dining? Can you just rock up on an evening & hope they have a table?

    Hello and thank you for coming to the Disney Parks Moms Panel to get your question answered.

    Guests are able to make Disney Dining reservations at the 180 day mark before your arrival date. Please look through all of the wonderful dining choices that are available to you and see which ones will require advance reservations. You can also look through the often asked questions about dining HERE. 

    I strongly recommend that you reserve your dining. It is rare that you can walk up to a restaurant to find a table open but it is not impossible. It often depends on the crowd level in the parks or Downtown Disney. There are some locations that will likely never see open tables as they are that popular. Dining in Cinderella's Castle is one as well as Chef Mickey which is the most popular character dining experience. I suggest you make a plan and make reservations for dining and as it gets closer and you feel you won't need some of the dining then cancel it but make sure you really don't want it before you do that as you won't get it back. And remember to cancel reservations before you will be penalized which is usually two days in advance.
