Visiting WDW first time! Need to plan parks around the shows, Fantasmic, Wishes,Reflections. Arrive 5/1-5/7, no park hopper. What time should we have dinner to make the show early? Do you have to pay for the VIP vouchers from Mama's? Thanks!

    Hi Crystal!

Since you are a fist time visitor, i highly recommend picking up a copy of the book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It's a perfect book for first timers because it has just the right amount of information without being overwhelming.  It's also a beautiful book full of color photographs.  It will give you a lot of tips to help plan your first trip to Walt Disney World.

Generally speaking, you will want to make an Advanced Dining Reservation for about two hours before a nighttime spectacular, such as Wishes in the Magic Kingdom, to make sure you are completely done with dinner in time to get a good spot for the show.  Reservations can be made online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE 180 days in advance of when you would like to eat.  Keep in mind special dining events such as the Tomorrowland Dessert Party in the Magic Kingdom or a Fantasmic! Dining Package in Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Disney usually releases the park calendars about 6 months in advance.  You will want to use that information to help your plan your visit so that you don't miss any of the "must dos".  Enjoy planning your first Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
