We are visiting WDW for the first time in December and I am not sure what type of clothes to bring? Also, my kids are 5&8 and I am not sure if we should worry about a stroller for them? thanks

    Hi Kristan,

I'm SO excited to hear that your family will be experiencing your very first Walt Disney World Resort vacation! And in December, nonetheless!? Visiting during the holiday season is always extra magical!

I'd definitely encourage you to keep an eye on the local weather forecast as you get closer to your trip, but my number one packing recommendation is to bring layers. It may warm up enough during the day that you'll feel comfortable in short-sleeve shirts, but after dark, the temperature usually drops some and you'll likely want sweatshirts or jackets. There have been times, though, when my family has visited and needed hats, gloves, and/or winter coats, so you'll definitely want to be prepared! Because you'll be soaking up all of the magic and fun all day long, make sure that you all wear comfortable clothes...and shoes!

As for a stroller, I'd definitely recommend either bringing one or renting one. I used one with my youngest kiddos until they were seven or so. There's so much magic happening, and you'll be walking a lot, so it's helpful to have a place for your Mouseketeers to rest their feet a bit. Plus, the other benefit to having a stroller is that you'll have a place where you can store those sweatshirts and extra layers.

Just a few other tips for you as a first-time visitor: feel free to ask for complimentary "My First Visit" pins when you arrive, be sure to download the My Disney Experience app, take advantage of the wonderful FastPass+ service, and don't be afraid to ask a friendly Cast Member for any help!

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Kristan, and please let us know if you have any other questions as you're planning your visit. I hope that you and your family have a truly magical vacation!
