We are visiting WDW for the first time in April for the Star Wars run. We have been to Disneyland a lot, but are unfamiliar with how the FastPass works at WDW. We are not staying at a Disney hotel. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Greetings Jedi Michael,

We are honored that you could join us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

Disney’s FastPass+ system allows you to select three attractions per day that will allow you to skip the standby line. You will need to have a My Disney Experience account for each member of your travel party. You will need to add everyone to your “Family and Friends List” and they will need to accept before you can make FastPass+ selections for everyone online or use the My Disney Experience app on your smartphone or tablet. Everyone with a paid ticket or admission can make their selections up to 30 days in advance at 7:00 AM Eastern Time. Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel can make their selections 60 days in advance.

The force is strong with you when you return to your designated ride or attraction at the selected time to the FastPass+ line. You will use your admission card, or you can purchase a MagicBand and link it to your My Disney Experience account to enter the FastPass+ line. After you have redeemed your third FastPass+ you can check the app or a kiosk for other attractions with availability.

May the force be with you,
