We will be visiting WDW in a few weeks. I have four kids, my oldest has Down syndrome and it is her dream to be in a parade. Where/how do I contact the parks to see if she can be a guest in the MK parade?

    Hi Kristin!

Congratulations on your family's visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! Your children will fall in LOVE with the magic of Disney!

There is no official way for being selected as as grand marshall, or honorary guest family, for any of the parades. As with so many Pixie Dusted experiences that can only happen at Disney, it really boils down to being in the right place at the right time. Sometimes the selected families are part of special events like Make a Wish Foundation trips. At other times they are the winners of special Disney Sweepstakes, like radio promotions and online contests. Having said all that, the Disney Cast Members who select the other honorary parade families often look for people exuding enthusiasm. It has to be obvious they are smitten by the magic that surrounds them. It also helps if you are wearing matching outfits, preferably Disney themed! If all else fails, you can certainly join some of the parades near the end, so long as it doesn't interfere with the performers. Please let me know if I can answer any other Disney Vacation planning questions for you.

Sending you tons of Pixie Dust for your child's dream to come true at Disney!
