We are visiting WDW in February. For the new Star Wars rides, do/will they have rider switch available? Our kids aren’t tall enough to ride.

    Hi Erika!

Thanks for your question. We share your excitement with Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, as you and your family are shot hyperdrive to a galaxy far, far away! :-)

A February trip is typically a non-peak month, so good choice going to Disney at this time of year!

So it is my understanding that Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is indeed participating in the Rider Switch program. If you're familiar with how it works, your entire family must go up to the Cast Member near the entrance and ask to use the Rider Switch. There must be an adult who will stay back with the children (considered Party 2) as the first party (Party 1) stands in line for the attraction. Once Party 1 is finished, Party 2 will now come up to the Cast Member with the Rider Switch ticket to enter the attraction, while the other party member who just disembarked (who's also an adult) stays back with the children. It is unclear exactly where you will be placed while waiting, as other attractions with Rider Switch are usually placed somewhere outside of the regular standby queue.

There currently is no word on whether Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will participate in the Rider Switch program (set to open December 5th, 2019).

Hope this helps some. May The Force Be With You!
