Hi We are visiting WDW at the end of July / begining of Agust and wondering what the weather is likely to be like. Rough idea of temperatures and is it true that we are liable to have to put up with the daily thunder storms and heavy rain. Thanks

    Hi Hilary,

I've lived in Florida for almost 30 years now, so I can attest that the temperature in late July and early August is hot and humid. There's little variation: Temperatures during the day almost certainly will be in the low to mid-90s with high humidity. Lows are likely to be in the mid- to upper 70s.

Afternoon thunderstorms are fairly common throughout the summer, but they usually don't last long. Often, they provide a welcome respite and the crowds tend to clear during the rain.

I always bring rain ponchos with us in our backpack, just in case, even in the winter. Thunderstorms come up quickly here, so I like to have them already in hand. I also prefer ones that are red or blue so that I can keep track of my family in a sea of Disney ponchos.

Please let me know if I can help in any other way. Enjoy your visit!
