We are visiting WDW in early December with a 3 year-old and a 1 year-old. What restaurant would you suggest for dinner the first night to really make the trip magic?

I would recommend the Crystal Palace located in the Magic Kingdom.  Your little ones will meet Winnie the Pooh and others from the Hundred Acre Wood.  You will be able to watch the cooks as they are 'on-stage' as they cook the meal.  The Crystal Palace is located right beside a Baby Center and very close to the castle.  Your little ones particularly your three year old can visit her own special buffet table called Pooh's Corner.  It's beautiful and magical.    Your then can walk outside and watch the castle as it lights up during the Castle lighting show.  It usually is lit around 7 p.m.  I would highly recommend watching the castle lighting its spectacular!!!
