We will be visiting WDW during the 4th of July this year with our 5yold and 2y old daughters. I have read your answers about where to go and to get there early. Two questions, how early? And If you do Magic Kingdom on the 4th, any suggestions for dining?

    Hi Pamela!

How early should you get to the Magic Kingdom on July 4th?  When they open!  The park will fill up very fast for guests staying until the magical fireworks show at night and will most likely close due to full capacity.  My family attended July 4th a couple years ago and we grabbed a spot for the fireworks 2 and a half hours early.  We were right in front of the castle next to Walt's statue and had a great viewing spot and a picture perfect location.

Where should you eat?  If you'd like to do table service, I suggest Liberty Tree Tavern.  They have delicious American fanfare.  If you'd like to dine with characters, try Crystal Palace.  Both of these restaurants require advance reservations, so be sure to secure your table early for the holiday.  My favorite quick service restaurant at the Magic Kingdom is Cosmic Ray's, which has a variety of food to satisfy any eater.  I also love the pizza at Pinochio's Village Haus.  Please keep in mind that any quick service restaurant will be busy and will most likely have long lines.  I highly suggest making reservations at a table service restaurant so you don't feel so clustered.

    Have a magical day!
