We will be visiting WDW in December with two children ages 6 and 2. We had planned to stay at Coronado Springs but heard there was always a long walk to anywhere. Should we change our reservations to Port Orleans French Quarter?

Hi, Jackie!   Coronado Springs is a beautiful resort, but there is a lot of walking.  If you want a resort with less walking, you might prefer Port Orleans French Quarter.  With just over 1,000 rooms, it is the smallest of all the Moderate Resorts.   We like to stay in buildings 2 or 3 with a standard view, and we request a building close to the bus stop.

By switching from Coronado Springs, you will be giving up their super comfortable queen size beds, but with 2 little ones, I think French Quarter is probably the better choice.   If you want to change your reservation, have your confirmation number handy and call (407)W-DISNEY to speak to a reservationist to see if any rooms are available at French Quarter and if there will be any change in price.

Good luck with your planning and enjoy your December WDW vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
