We will be visiting WDW in Dec 2-9 and have scheduled a sleigh ride @ 8:30 pm at Fort Wilderness. Will it be too dark to enjoy the surroundings? or will there be Christmas lights to illuminate the ride?

Hello Stacy!  Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

Last year, during my Christmas vacation, I surprised my family with a holiday sleigh ride.  It was so much fun, you are in for a real treat!  While I think my reservation was a little earlier than yours, by the time our ride was over it was completely dark.  No worries though, most of the decorations on or around the RV's are illuminated with strands of Christmas lights.  But even for the ones that aren't, you'll be able to see because the roads you'll be taking are lit up with street lights.  If it were me, I'd leave the time as it.  The sleigh ride was something off the beaten path that I had wanted to do for quite some time and I am so glad we finally did.  Be sure to ask the Cast Member if he or she will take your picture with the horse when the ride is over.

I hope this helps ease your mind!  If you have any other questions, please come back and ask.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
