We are visiting WDW from Dec 30th to Jan 6th. Can we expect the crowds to start to get lighter after New Years Day?

    Hi Erin,

My family will also be at Walt Disney World during Christmas and New Year this year so be sure to come and say hello if you see us in the Disney Parks!

You can most definitely expect the crowds to reduce after New Years Day. The last time that we visited at this time of year in 2010/11 we noticed that the crowds seemed to decrease quite rapidly from New Years Day onwards.

According to the crowd calendar on the unofficial website Touring Plans, the crowd level will be 10/10 from 22 December 2012 - 1 January 2013. This then reduces to 9/10 on 2 January 2013, 6/10 from 3 - 5 January 2013 and 3/10 on 6 January 2013.

Wishing you a magical trip filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
