We are visiting WDW in Dec, 2008. This is our first time. My question is, where is the best place to eat for dinner & fireworks & do you need reservations for every meal you are going to eat. Thanks, Michelle TX.

Oh, I have just the place for you! This past Saturday night I dined at the California Grill atop the Contemporary Resort. I’m not sure which was better - the food or the view. Both took my breath away.

Once you arrive the Contemporary Resort, you will check in for your meal. Prior to your journey to the 15th floor, you will see a sign stating the dress code along with a room for stroller parking. The dress code states “We respectfully request business casual attire; no tank tops, swim suits or swim suit cover ups, hats for gentleman, cut-off or torn clothing of any kind.

Between courses, be sure to visit the outdoor deck to snap pictures and watch the sunset.

If you want dinner and fireworks, this is the place to reserve. You’ll enjoy fine dining with an eclectic menu favoring West Coast American Cuisine. I highly recommend an appetizer of Sonoma Goat Cheese ravioli. For dessert, you must have the lava molten chocolate cake. But did I tell you about the view? You really need to take time to savor the view as much as the menu being served.

It is increasingly necessary to have Advance Dining Reservations albeit not impossible to find walk up availability. However, to avoid disappointment, I would reserve any meals that are of great importance to your family.

If the California Grill does not meet your family’s needs, additional Wishes fireworks viewing is possible from other locations. For example, you could try ‘Ohana’s at the Polynesian Resort and Narcoossee’s at the Grand Floridian.
