Hello Denise!
Welcome back to planDisney and “Asante Sana” (thank you) for sending us yet another excellent question. What better way to get into the holiday spirit than with a Walt Disney World vacation!
From what I’ve learned about the
Tree of Life Awakenings, they happen at dark and every 10 minutes until the park closes. Naturally, for the Tree of Life Awakenings to be effective, they must happen after dark. So if the park closes at 5:00, it’s unlikely you will get to experience the Tree of Life Holiday Awakening next month.
This past weekend, I was at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and was able to see this awe-inspiring display because the park stayed open until 7:00 p.m. So if viewing the Tree of Life in all its splendor at night is important to you, then Hakuna Matata! Maybe you can modify your
Disney Park Pass reservations. Check the
availability calendar and be sure to verify the park hours before making any changes.
While you’re at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, make sure to check out the gorillas from the
Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail. After watching the Disney+ series
Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, I’m totally invested in these animals and their stories. Another can’t miss attraction is the
Affection Station which has reopened its petting zoo at Rafiki’s Planet Watch. Guests will be limited to small groups and expected to social distance, and there will be plenty of handwashing stations available. Expect interactions with goats and other family-friendly animals.
While at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, look for the fun
character flotillas throughout the day. From Mickey and Minnie, Chip ‘n’ Dale, and the Discovery Island Drummers, we enjoyed spotting all the different characters as they floated on boats down Discovery River. There’s even a Santa Claus Festive Floatilla featuring none other than the big guy himself!
Swing back by planDisney anytime as you continue your vacation planning. We take great PRIDE in being able to answer questions about the Most Magical Place on Earth. Have a magical vacation!
