I will be visiting WDW 5-25-09 for 7days with my husband, adult son and his girlfriend. We have res. at Sports. We will spend most of our time at the parks and rely on Disney buses. Do you think I should upgrade or do I even have time to upgrade?

    Tammy:

If I were in your shoes, deciding whether to upgrade or not depends on your budget and how much privacy everyone needs during the trip....

The rooms at the Value Resorts are smaller than what you'd find at a hotel chain, in my opinion, but if you are simply going to sleep and shower in them, they may be a solid choice.  My only concern, with four adults, would be privacy as the bathrooms are small and there is no privacy curtain to separate the vanity from the bedroom.  Moderate resorts, on the other hand, do have privacy curtains along with about 54 square feet more of room.

As I mentioned today to Teresa from AL, there are many positives to staying at the Value resorts, including a plethora of buses. But if you decide to upgrade and change your reservation (if you've booked a vacation package), there may be a $50 fee now that you're within your 45-day arrival window.  If you've booked a room only, you won't incur a fee until you are within 5 days of arrival.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
