We are visiting WDW in Aug and staying in a cabin at Fort Wilderness. Can you tell me what the closest cabins to the lagoon are and if that is the best location to stay on the campground?

    Hi Pam,

My first Disney trip ever was in a huge orange tent at Fort Wilderness Resort with my parents and infant sister.  My family loves the Fort, and continue to make many fabulous memories there.  The "preferred and premium" sites at the campground are located near either the Settlement Trading Post, Pioneer Hall and marina areas.  When you make your reservations, you can make your request for a general location, and the cast member who assists you will do their best to meet your needs.  The "best" area is obviously a subjective matter, but many campers prefer to be near the Settlement Trading Post, located on the North End of the property and close to the marina and beach.

    Have a magical visit!
