We are visiting WDW 1/31/10-2/6/10. Aside from character dining, do you think I need to make dinner reservations? Since this is a slow time I'm hoping we'll have more flexibility. Do you think this is a mistake? Should I make some reservations? Thanks!

    Hi Yvette!
Great question! Slow time of year or not, the most popular dining experiences at Walt Disney World always seem to be crowded or full. That said, I also understand your desire for dining flexibility. With few exceptions (ie very early walk up times for breakfast, etc.), character dining reservations are almost always a must, but I think you have that covered. As for other popular dining experiences, like the California Grill at the Contemporary, or the Hollywood Brown Derby at Disney's Hollywood Studios, or the Rose and Crown Pub in EPCOT, or whatever your favorite may be,  your best bet is an advanced dining reservation. As guests are again able to book 180 days in advance, you want to make sure you have the opportunity to dine at your favorite places without leaving it to the ebb and flow of park crowds. If you have your heart set on a particular restaurant/experience, I would make the reservation. If, aside from your character meals, you feel comfortable rolling the dice, then it makes sense to enjoy the flexiblity with regards to times and locations. Bon appetite!!
