Hi I am visiting WDW in April and my son will turn 6 when we are there, I was wondering what is the best way to order a cake? We have the quick service dining plan and we can't make reservations at a restaurant. Any advice is welcome

    Hi Lauren!

There is no better way to celebrate a birthday than a trip to Walt Disney World!  We love marking any special occasion with a visit to see Mickey Mouse and friends.

I am happy to let you know that you can purchase a birthday cake to be delivered right to your Resort hotel room!  We have ordered a handful of custom birthday cakes from Walt Disney World over the years and have been so impressed each time.  My favorite so far has been Lilo & Stitch cake for a birthday a couple of years ago.  I gave Disney the theme and let "Hawaiian roller coaster ride" with it.  It had edible white chocolate Lilo & Stitch flat printed cut outs standing on top and the entire cake was beach themed complete with white chocolate painted shells, edible sand and beautiful frosting waves.  Another memorable cake was a gorgeous princess themed cake for a girls only tea at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.  It was a delicious red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting covered in pink fondant and decorated with flowers and on top sat a white chocolate princes tiara.  Amazing!

For more information and pricing on cakes for your son's very special trip, call the Walt Disney World cake hotline. You will be given some automated information and then can choose an option for your Resort hotel. Custom cakes have many options to choose from including a character, theme, cake flavor, filling flavor, frosting flavor and extras.

Also check out Disney Floral & Gifts for some extra special ways to spread some Disney magic in your Resort hotel room during your stay and don't forget to pick up a complimentary birthday button when you check in.

    Have a magical day!
