We are visiting WDW in April for 4 days. There are 5 of us with the youngest being 16. Is it worth doing the dining plan?? If so which would you recommend? Is there really a big savings?

Hello Robyn!  My family (husband and daughter who is 7) and I love the Disney Dining Plan.  It is convenient and we always see a big savings!

First of all, you have to decided what type of places you want to eat?  Are you going to take the time out to sit down and have a table service meal each day?  We love table service meals at Walt Disney World and enjoy having a little downtime each day.  We select the standard Disney Dining Plan that consists of 1 Quick Service Credit, 1 Table Service Credit and 1 Snack Credit per night stayed at a Walt Disney World Resort.  This plan is fantastic and a lot of food.  What I like about the Disney Dining plan is after I pay for the package, I don't have to look at prices.  I can order the most expensive item on the menu and it doesn't matter.  I don't have to be price conscious on vacation and I love it.

I recently priced out the standard Disney Dining Plan for a week and compared that to what my family would order for dinner for a week at Walt Disney World.  I ONLY priced out dinners including a non alcoholic beverage and a dessert and I came up with a savings of hundreds of dollars.  That was only taking into considerations dinners, no quick service meals or snacks.  I knew the Disney Dining Plan saved us money, but I was in shock how much!

If you want to dine at character meals or sit down restaurants, I highly encourage the Disney Dining Plan.  I think you will also be impressed by the savings.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
