Hi. We are visiting WDW in April 2018. We have booked dinner at Cafe Mickey. Both my sons are severely autistic and their diet is very limited and fairly restricted. I know for sure they won’t eat anything on the menu. Do I still need to pay for them?

    Hi Qazi!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is just around the corner and I'm so happy to help you get ready for your trip! It sounds like you have reservations at Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort. This is one of my favorite character dining experiences because it is such a fun option for the entire family. My husband and I love the tasty variety of food options and my little ones love to meet Mickey, Minnie, and their friends during our meal. Since character dining meals include both the meal and the opportunity to interact with the characters, all Guests who are 3 years old and above will be charged for their dining experience.

Walt Disney World Resort does a fantastic job accommodating Guest's special diets and even has a team devoted to helping Guests plan their meals to accommodate their special dietary requests. I recommend that you contact the Special Diets Team by emailing them at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com so they can help you determine how your sons can best be accommodated during your vacation and if anything can be prepared for them that they would enjoy for their meal. My son has several severe food allergies and when we dined at Chef Mickey's, the chef was willing to go above and beyond to ensure my son had a fantastic meal that he would eat. The Special Dining Team will be able to help determine how the chefs and Cast Members at Walt Disney World Resort can best accommodate your sons' diets.

Please let us know if you have any other questions as you plan your trip! T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
