I will be visiting wdw alone, but my mom may decide to join me. Should I make dinning reservations for 1 and if she comes ask to add another at the site, or make reservations for 2 and if she doesn't go tell at the restaurant that only one will be dining?

Hi Livia!

This is a great question and I think you are absolutely fine going either way. I have had to do this many times myself. I have only had one problem over the years and that was at one of the most popular restaurants in Walt Disney World.

By the way, another option if you will be dining alone is sitting at a bar and ordering off of a menu. You can do that at many of the bars attached or located to a restaurant near by. I love to do that at the Tune In lounge in Disney's Hollywood Studios and at the Yak and Yeti bar in Disney's Animal Kingdom.
