    We will be visiting Walt Disney World for the 1st time and staying at AOA resort, for the 1st day there I thought going to Chef Mickey for an early dinner instead of going to a park would ease us into things, what will be the best way to get there?

    Hello Rebecca!  Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  I think you've come up with a great plan for check in day.  In fact, my family and I do the same. 

    To get to Chef Mickey's from Disney's Art of Animation Resort you'll want to take the bus for Magic Kingdom at your resort bus stop.  Once at the Magic Kingdom you have 2 options.  You can follow the signs to the resort monorail line.  Hop on the monorail and Disney's Contemporary Resort is the first stop.  The other option is walking.  There is a sidewalk across the street from the bus stop that will take you straight to the resort.  It's a short walk, about 5-10 minutes depending on how fast you go.  If you have kids, I suggest taking the monorail just for the fun factor of it!
