Visiting Walt Disney World in three days. I wanna leave my child’s bulky stroller at home but wonder about the CURRENT strollers for rent. Do they have cup holders? A top tray for parents’ stuff? Any storage?

    Hi there, Lassie!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  With your Walt Disney World Resort vacation in just a couple days (WAHOO!) you must be so very excited!  Before you know it, you will be in Orlando making some magical memories that will last a lifetime!

Strollers are definitely a necessity when you visit the theme parks, but boy, oh boy can they be cumbersome to travel with!  So, I totally understand contemplating whether or not to bring yours with you from home or renting one when you arrive at the theme parks.  First things first, depending on just how bulky your stroller is, it may not even be allowed in the theme parks.  I recommend checking the manufacturer’s specifications for your exact stroller first to ensure it does in fact adhere to Walt Disney World Resort’s stroller size requirements as stated in the park rules.  Personal strollers must be less than 31 inches wide and 52 inches long to be permitted in the theme parks.

The strollers available to rent at the theme parks are made of molded plastic and have a sunshade to block the hot Florida sun from your little Mouseketeer.  They do have a cupholder and a small storage pocket on the back side of the stroller to store some small items.  And while they certainly serve the function of getting little legs from place to place, they are likely not nearly as comfortable as your own personal stroller.  If you do a quick search online, I many photos will pop up showing you the current strollers available to rent at the theme parks.  A couple other things to consider – if you are flying into Orlando, will you want or need a stroller at the airport??  And, will you want a stroller to help get you from your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel to and from the theme parks??  The strollers available to rent at the theme parks cannot be taken back to your Hotel at the end of the day, nor can they be moved from theme park to theme park so if you plan on using a Park Hopper ticket and visiting more than one theme park in one day, you will need to pick up a new stroller at each theme park.

Hopefully this information helps guide you in your decision making!  Wishing you the most magical and memorable vacation EVER!
