Hi Emily, and welcome to planDisney! It's always nice to see a fellow Virginian here.
Your arrival at the Walt Disney World Resort is just DAYS away! I know just how excited you're getting, and hope you're having so much fun putting your last-minute plans in place and dreaming about all the fun that's in store for you.
Things are changing so rapidly these days, so the very best place to look for official information about COVID-19 precautions is the
Returning to a World of Magic webpage. On the
Dining page, you'll find comprehensive information about operations as well as a list of dining locations that are currently open.
As of the time I'm writing this,
face coverings are required for all Guests, regardless of vaccination status, indoors. At dining locations, this means Guests must wear face coverings anytime they are not actively eating or drinking while stationary. In terms of distancing, my family visited in late June and our perception was that tables were not spaced any differently than before the pandemic. You're welcome to ask a Cast Member when you arrive at a restaurant about distancing or other safety precautions in place. We did love that QR codes are placed on each table, so instead of touching a menu, you can pull up a digital menu on your phone. Paper kids' menus with crayons are still available.
Emily, if you're not comfortable with the current safety precautions, I have a few suggestions. My family found that
Mobile Order dining was really convenient on our recent visit. Order early if you can, as popular dining times may become unavailable. Some Table-Service locations, such as Sanaa, are offering Mobile Order dining through the
My Disney Experience app, so tap on Mobile Food Orders to view available restaurants (you can do this from home to get a sense of how it works). We stayed at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, and one night we Mobile Ordered from Three Bridges Bar and Grill and ate at an outdoor seating area while enjoying a nice evening breeze and the gorgeous views.
Another really fun option that my family loved was
Disney Family Night Dinner. This option is available at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. You'll get a delicious dinner and a really fun game to play while you eat. You can learn more about the meal on
planDisney's Instagram story highlights, and this option is available for Mobile Order.
Finally, the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is underway, with so many delicious options for meals. Visit the outdoor kiosks and taste and sip your way around the World Showcase.
Thanks for stopping by planDisney! I love to read the Disney Parks Blog as I count down the days to my Disney vacations – that way I’m on top of all the news and announcements, and I can be aware of any new treats that we have to try on our visit! If you think of any questions as you plan and dream, we’re here to help.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
