We will be visiting Walt Disney world for the first time in a couple of months, are we allowed to bring in our extendable reusable metal straws?

Hey there, Amanda! Welcome to planDisney!

It looks like your Walt Disney World adventure is quickly approaching. To quote one very famous mouse, “ Oh, boy!” You’ll be immersed in the magic, creating a lifetime of core memories before you know it.

Taking a look at the list of prohibited items in the Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules, I don’t see any mention of reusable or metal straws. While Cast Members reserve the right to prohibit items not included in the list, I don’t think you’ll have an issue. The straws may show up on the security scanners since they are made of metal, and if that happens, security Cast Members may ask to inspect your bag. But I’ve brought various water bottles, straws, and sippers into the theme parks without a problem, so you should be fine.

If you have questions or need clarification regarding any Walt Disney World policies, you can also call the non-reservation support line to speak with a helpful Cast Member.

You’ve picked a wonderful time to visit Walt Disney World, Amanda. Beloved attractions like Big Thunder Mountain and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin are scheduled to reopen after their refurbishments (schedules are subject to change, and the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival will kick off shortly after your arrival. The Disney Parks Blog is your best source for news and updates, like this schedule of performers at the Garden Rocks Concert Series, and I’d recommend you check back often as your vacation approaches.

I’m sure your spring trip to the Vacation Kingdom of the World will be amazing. Don’t hesitate to come back if you have more questions or need recommendations. You're as welcome as can be at planDisney!

    Magical travels!
