Disney's Vero Beach Resort question. I
just got home from my very first trip to Disney's Vero Beach Resort last night, and I couldn't be more excited to chat about it with you!
First things first ... Get excited, because this Resort is FABULOUS. From the moment you arrive, you are wholeheartedly welcomed by the
incredible Cast Members, and you can just feel yourself relax and activate vacation mode. The beach and the entire Resort, including the newly renovated lobby, are absolutely beautiful and the perfect setting for a magical, relaxing beach vacation.
Speaking of the gorgeous lobby, I think you will be happy to hear that the lobby enhancements are complete, and you will get to thoroughly enjoy its elegant, yet relaxed and welcoming beach vibes. In fact, when we arrived for our vacation, there was still a subtle construction curtain hanging on one of the walls, and yesterday morning, the curtain was down, revealing THE most adorable Check-in and Lobby Concierge area. Seriously, take the time to look up, down and all around this beautiful lobby, and ENJOY!
Since you are visiting during sea turtle nesting season, be sure to stop at the beautiful, new front desk to ask about any sea turtle activities! We met a Sea Turtle Specialist on the beach at 7 a.m., and we learned so much about sea turtles, their nesting and their tracks. We even saw the tracks of two mama sea turtles who came ashore to lay their eggs! It was an incredible experience and a must-do.
It's amazing to visit during sea turtle nesting season, but I must give you a heads-up about it also being the season for a not-so-amazing little creature. It happens to be no-see-um (little biting bugs) season at Vero Beach right now, so, I must recommend using the bug repellant lotion that the Resort provides at all of its exits, especially at dusk and dawn. The lotion helps
so much, and you will
definitely want to slather it on before enjoying your nightly Movie on the Green.
Speaking of Resort activities, there is seriously SO much to do here. Since there is always something great to do, you can relax as much or as little as you want. I must recommend renting bikes from
Eb and Flo's Rentals right by the pool to explore the Resort and surrounding area. Ask the Cast Member for a map and some quick instructions on how to get to the Jungle Trail. We rode just a portion of the Southbound Jungle Trail, and it was awesome! Keep your eyes peeled for blue land crabs! You won't have to look hard, because they are
everywhere! The Resort's magical tunnel that safely brings you under the highway is reason enough to ride bikes this way. Trust me on this one!
Speaking of magic, this is a beach Resort, but it is Disney through and through. It truly is magical. Don't forget to stop by
Wind & Waves Market for a Mickey pretzel, churros, DOLE Whip or a Mickey ice cream bar! It
is a Disney vacation, after all!
