Welcome to planDisney, Lottie.
A summer holiday in The Most Magical Place on Earth sounds "proper boss" (as we'd say in Liverpool). If you like summer as much as Olaf then you're in for a fabulous time. In those hot Florida months, one of the things my family loves to do is spend the day at
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. I'm one of those people who enjoy repeatedly being taken out by a big kahuna in the wave pool. My wife and I have many thrilling memories of experiencing the rush of
Crush 'N' Gusher. And there's something so relaxing – especially after walking miles around a Theme Park the previous day – about floating along on the lazy river. If you've never tried a Disney water park, I'd recommend it.
But in the words of the March Hare from Alice in Wonderland, "I have an excellent idea! Let's change the subject." You'd like to know about
MagicBands. These devices are really handy and carefree ways to enjoy Walt Disney World Resort. They enable you to magically unlock your Disney Resort room door, enter Theme Parks and Water Parks (with valid admission, of course!), connect your Disney PhotoPass to your account, and even purchase tasty food and memorable merchandise. I actually remember being a bit skeptical of them when they were first introduced. But then I tried them and I was instantly impressed!
So I can completely understand why you'd like to purchase some for your upcoming trip. Unfortunately, Lottie, at this moment in time, UK Guests cannot order their MagicBands pre-arrival. I realize that's not the news you were hoping for. However, all is not lost! Once you arrive at Walt Disney World, you'll be able to discover the many fun and exciting options of MagicBands available. Do you remember that scene in Beauty and the Beast where Belle sees how many books are in the Beast's library? I'm sure you'll have a similar experience when you see how many MagicBands you can choose from. You'll find them throughout the various
shops and stores around Walt Disney World Resort.
Lottie, did you know that
MagicBand+ is coming out soon? Besides having the basic capabilities as the current MagicBand, they'll also have color-changing lights and haptic vibrations that will allow Guests to "feel the magic." Not only that, but MagicBand+ will also have gesture recognition capabilities that enable certain movements to create magical experiences. So keep an eye out for MagicBand+ as your holiday approaches.
Lottie, I hope you have a wonderful visit. Don't forget to make dining reservations 60 days before your trip. I recently enjoyed
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' at Disney Springs. It was so good I haven't stopped telling people about it since. I feel like Luigi from the movie, Cars: "I must scream it to the world, my excitement from the top of someplace very high!" It's the perfect place for families and the food is wonderful. Plus, you can even stop by
Gideon's Bakehouse afterward and experience one of their yummy cookies. I'm actually eating one now that I brought home with me from my last trip. So good!
To use a Scouse-ism, I hope your holiday is a "belter," Lottie. Thanks for stopping by planDisney.
