Welcome to planDisney, Kelly.
I'm so glad you've chosen to be our Guest. I bet you're counting down the days until you arrive at The Most Magical Place on Earth. Although August is scorching hot, I think it's a great time to visit. Not only because I like the heat, but because it's the perfect opportunity to enjoy
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. A much-deserved rest on Castaway Creek is just what the body needs after walking for miles around a Theme Park the previous day. There are also loads of thrill rides to experience and enjoy.
Crush 'n' Gusher is my wife and I's favorite water slide. And if you have any little Squirts in your bale of turtles,
Ketchakiddee Creek is a perfect place for them to explore and play.
Since it'll be August when you arrive, you're going to want to drink plenty of water. You won't be able to drink enough of it! My family and I always bring our own reusable water bottles to Walt Disney World. We can then either fill them up at the various refill stations or simply ask for a free cup of ice water from any quick-service restaurant. We then pour that cup of ice water into our bottles.
If you're staying at a Disney Resort, you can purchase refillable mugs. These give you unlimited refills for your stay on various Coke products, hot chocolate, coffee, and tea. You can use these at the hotels, but
not the Theme Parks. Not only do these refillable mugs work out at a decent price if you use them for the entirety of your trip, but they make nice souvenirs. My wife and I purchased them on our 5th year anniversary and got more than our money's worth in coffee refills alone!
I hope that's helpful, Kelly! As we say in Liverpool, have a "boss" holiday.
ChEARS,
Mike
