    Hi, We are visiting from the UK in August, and my son will have is 12th Birthday at Magic Kingdom. He is a huge monorail fan. Would it be possible to travel up front with the driver ? if not, are there any tips for making his day really special ? Thanks.

    It's always an extra pleasure for me to help a fellow Brit with their jolly holiday plans to visit Walt Disney World Resort and even more so when it's assisting a young man with his 12th birthday celebrations! 
    I can't think of any where more magical to celebrate than the Magic Kingdom Park where of course you'll be able to ride the Walt Disney World Railroad - Main Street, U.S.A which isn't quite the Ride High in the Sky Monorail, but it is still rather wonderful.
    Unfortunately because Cast Members are simply Wild About Safety it's not possible for Guests to travel up front with the driver of the Monorail, however it is possible to get a backstage look at the 4 steam trains which carry Guests around the Magic Kingdom Park by getting on track for the 3 hour Disney's The Magic Behind Our Steam Trains Tour. 
    My top birthday tips are to be sure to visit Guest Relations to collect a complimentary 'I'm celebrating' badge which often prompts Cast Members and other Guests to wish the wearer many happy returns of the day!  Plus you may wish to check out these other fun ways to to Customise Your Celebration.
