Hi Anna and welcome to planDisney!
Your plans for this Sunday sound like so much fun! The Walt Disney World Water Parks are my favorite places to visit for splashing around and cooling off in-between theme park days and I'm so excited that
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon has reopened just in time for your visit!
Typhoon Lagoon is my son's favorite water park because he loves to tackle the big waves in the
Surf Pool. It's so exciting walking into the park and hearing the WOOOSH of the waves for the first time. When you arrive, you'll want to claim a space with chairs, which will be your go-to meeting place for the day. We always head over near
Crush 'n' Gusher and Miss Adventure Falls. There's a large sandy area with lots of chairs available that are first come, first served. It's located near an entrance to
Castaway Creek, the lazy river, as well as near the main restrooms with showers and changing rooms. We like to use the lazy river as our mode of transportation to get from one attraction to the other.
I usually recommend driving your own car when a Guest asks for the quickest way to get from place to place at Walt Disney World, and this is no exception. If you were to use
Disney bus transportation, you would need to stop at
Disney Springs first and transfer to another bus to continue on to
Disney's Contemporary Resort for your dinner at
Chef Mickey's. I'm sure you want to maximize your time experiencing all of the Typhoon Lagoon attractions and this could take unnecessary added time, especially if you just miss a bus, so driving yourself is the easiest and quickest way to get there.
The Disney Water Parks have their own refillable mugs for purchase with an adorable design on them featuring attractions from both parks. It's one price to activate for unlimited refills that day and then you can bring them back on future water park days to re-activate them at a discount. You'll want to make sure you keep yourselves hydrated in this Florida heat and sun!
Please stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.
Have a magical day!
Leslie
