we will be visiting typhoon lagoon in june and are excited to visit the shark reef - does it operate everyday? also is there an age restriction? should we see this early in the day because of crowds?

    Hi Jenifer,

This is my favorite thing to do at Typhoon Lagoon (I love all those colorful fish, sharks, sting rays, etc...and swimming with them is the best!).  There is no age limit for this experience, although children under the age of 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult.  Keep in mind also that the water is very cold and can take away your breath for a few minutes, so for some children (or adults) who may not be used to this, it can be a bit challenging for even the best swimmers.  I would definitely suggest to do this attraction as early as possible (if you are arriving when the gates open) otherwise, you will find a very long line-up.  The Shark Reef is available every day, like any other attraction, but like any of the pools or water parks at Walt Disney World, for safety reasons it may occasionally be shut down due to inclement weather...trust me, you do not want to be in or near the water when lightning strikes...I found this out the hard way when I was younger and in a rental canoe in Fort Wilderness Campground...not fun or safe!!!!  Have a great time snorkeling with the sharks.

    Best wishes,
    Brigitta
