Hiya Michelle,
Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney again! We just love that you continue to visit us with your planning questions! So, let’s jump right into your question.
While I may not be a Fairy Godmother or a meteorologist, I’ve called Florida home for over a decade, so I can definitely share a little “weather wisdom.” In May, the days begin to warm up with a touch more humidity, but we’re not yet in those hot, hot summer temperatures. You’ll usually find daytime highs in the upper 80s and evenings that cool down into the 70s—perfect for strolling down
Main Street, with a Mickey bar in hand. However, the forecast is always subject to change.
To stay as comfortable as Olaf in summer, I highly recommend bringing along a refillable water bottle (you can find plenty of
water refill stations throughout the parks), a portable fan, and even a cooling towel—trust me, these little tricks can feel as refreshing as a splash from Kali River Rapids! And just like Tía Pepa in Encanto, you may find a little cloud or pop-up shower following you around from time to time—so it’s always smart to keep a poncho or umbrella handy!
May is also one of the most blooming, beautiful times to visit Disney World because
EPCOT’s International Flower & Garden Festival is in full swing. The topiaries are straight out of a fairy tale, the Outdoor Kitchens offer fresh and flavorful bites, and the Butterfly Garden feels like something straight from Pixie Hollow. This festival typically runs from March through June (though dates are always subject to change), so it’s right in the middle of your magical month.
As your trip gets closer, I also recommend keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog—it’s the best place to learn about new offerings and any extra pixie-dusted surprises happening during your visit.
Michelle, I hope this helps you feel prepared (and excited!) for your May adventure. If you have any further questions, please feel free to visit us again.
See ya real soon,
Christina
