I will be visiting for Thanksgiving Day, I am aware that there’s an evening event going on. Will this require a separate ticket or can I just return for the evening?

Hey there Alfreda, I'm happy to welcome you to planDisney!

Whether it's your first time at Walt Disney World Resort or you're a seasoned longtime Disney Parks fan, choosing to go during a major holiday like Thanksgiving can definitely be a formidable feast of longer waits and massive crowds all coming down to Orlando to celebrate each year!

Now at the current time, there are no Special Ticketed Events scheduled to place on Thanksgiving and you can always confirm this by checking the Walt Disney World Resort Hours & Events Calendar for that particular day. Since you didn't quite specify which of the theme parks you'll be heading to on Thanksgiving Day, here are the current closing times for each of them (and you'll be happy to hear that you currently won't require any additional nor separately-purchased ticket in order to return for the evening on November 28, 2024):

There are however, other days during the week of Thanksgiving when you'll be required to purchase a separate ticket for the following evening events:

    • On Tuesday, November 26, Wednesday, November 27 and Friday, November 29 - Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will be in full swing in Magic Kingdom Park from 7:00 P.M. until midnight! Folks and families with tickets to this event will be able to enter as early as 4:00 P.M. and those not attending the party will have to leave as the theme park closes to day guests at 6:00 P.M. on those dates.
    • On Saturday, November 30 - Disney Jollywood Nights will be taking place at Disney's Hollywood Studios from 7:30 P.M. to 12:30 A.M. with party attendees granted the ability to start their evenings earlier this year at 6:00 P.M. to enjoy all of the new offerings!
You may also be interested in the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays that begins just after Thanksgiving on November 29, and you currently don't require any separate tickets to enjoy this beyond valid admission to EPCOT itself. (The opening week will however be busy with those wanting to see Josh Gad in the Candlelight Processional, with many purchasing the Candlelight Processional Dining Package for the privilege of a guaranteed seat!)

Have the Happiest Thanksgiving at the Most Magical Place on Earth!
