Family on dock at Grand Floridian

We are visiting this summer with the entire family, a group of 7 of us all staying in one villa. Is it possible to have our magic bands charge our purchases individually or does it all have to be charged to one account?

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Jason!

As a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member, you're as welcome as can be here at planDisney.  Can you believe your family is only about two months from arriving at Walt Disney World? It's going to be here before you know it!  That 60-day mark is also a big Disney vacation-planning milestone for your upcoming visit –– beginning May 19th, you'll be able to make advance dining reservations for your entire length of stay (up to 10 days).  You can usually begin booking your reservations as early as 5:45 AM EST, so you'll want to make sure to set a calendar reminder (and an alarm!) for later this week.

MagicBands are a simple, but effective tool to make navigating your Walt Disney World Resort vacation a breeze.  This lightweight, waterproof accessory allows you to access your tickets and Genie+ Lightning Lane selections, connect your Disney PhotoPass images, unlock your Disney Vacation Club Resort room door, and can even be used to charge purchases to your credit or debit card.  And since you'll be traveling with a large group, here's the best part –– each Guest can link their MagicBand to a different card, even if you're staying in the same room.

I think the easiest way to set up individual cards is by visiting the Front Desk once you arrive at your Resort. In addition to providing your payment info, a Cast Member will also have you set up a pin number for purchases as an added layer of security, just like a debit card. And while each person can choose to use a separate card, you can also link a single card to more than one band.  In fact, my husband and I always choose to link the same credit card to both of our bands –– not only does this simplify the process, but it also helps us to keep track of our vacation spending when it's all in one place.  Setting up your MagicBand takes just a few seconds, then your card will be ready to use and you can get down to the business of vacationing!

Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney, Jason.  I'm wishing you and your family lots of pixie dust during your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit.
