We will be visiting this summer for my daughters 14th birthday. Could you suggest something not too costly that would add a little birthday touch. We will be visiting Be Our Guest restaurant, can they give her a "special cupcake" perhaps? Any su

Hi Aimee! I can't imagine a better place to spend a birthday then Walt Disney World. Fourteen is such a great age as they are still enjoying the fun and magic and at the same time looking forward to more independence in their life.

Every Disney restaurant keeps little cakes on hand, chocolate and vanilla, that you can request be served to your daughter. You can either quietly mention this at the check-in kiosk or to your wait staff once you have been seated. Many places love to come and sing when they serve the cake.

Be sure and pick up the Celebrating a Birthday button either at your resort upon check-in or at Guest Relations in the parks. She will enjoy receiving many birthday greetings from cast members and guests all day making her feel extra special. I would even pick up a simple birthday hat or tiara and have her wear it on this birthday. Everyone wants to feel like a princess and a birthday is an especially great day to do this!

Perhaps hop on the monorail and head to the Polynesian Resort and sit on the beach to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks and the Electric Water Parade that night. There are many things you can do which are either free or for a small charge. During the day you can rent the Sea Raycer boats from any of the resorts located on the water or a simple canoe to leisurely paddle the canals around Fort Wilderness. Make her day as special as possible doing something fun and different.
