we will be visiting 2/7-2/11 and stayin at DPO-riverside...how long of a boat ride is it to Downtown Disney from the resort? and where do they drop you off? We would like to have dinner at the Rainforest Cafe and do some shopping after. thanks

We enjoyed a leisurely boat ride from Port Orleans Riverside to Downtown Disney during our stay a couple of years ago.  While the boat was far from speedy (the trip took nearly 30 minutes), it was definitely an enjoyable trip.  The captain of our vessel even provided on-board entertainment, utilizing the boat's PA system to serenade the passengers with his own lovely version of Elvis' "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You."  Needless to say, it was a trip my kids still talk about today.

As for the drop-off, rest assured that you will disembark in very close proximity to Rainforest Cafe.  From there, you will be in prime position to walk to all the nearby shops!  Have a great time.

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
