    Hello, I will be visiting soon and I would like to make this trip as comfortable and easy as possible. How do you know when characters will come out? How to get all the rides in one day?

    Hiya, Sophia! Thank you for bringing this great question to planDisney!

    Like you, I like to make my trips to The Most Magical Place on Earth as seamless as possible! Even though my days might be filled with riding thrilling attractions, staying up late to soak up nighttime spectaculars, and seeking out all the newest seasonal snacks, that doesn't mean that I still don't want it to feel like a vacation. When it comes to making a trip to Walt Disney World Resort feel easy, just call me Jiminy Cricket – I'd love to be your guide!

    • Take some time to download and explore the My Disney Experience app. A little like holding your own magic wand in your hand, you'll be able to check wait times for attractions, view park maps, and mobile order food. This is my favorite way of minimizing waits and maximizing fun!
    • The My Disney Experience app will also allow you to see when the characters will be out and about at your current park. Just open the app and tap the second icon on the bottom, pulling up the map. Then, click the down arrow next to "Wait Times" and tap "Characters." You can tap "Filter" to choose a specific park, or tap "Show List" to view the characters in list format. Select a character and you'll be able to see their appearance times! Pro tip: if you're trying to visit your favorite characters, I'd recommend stopping by closer to the start of their appearance time.
    • Make advance dining reservations for any restaurants you'd like to dine at, and be sure that you've made your theme park reservations using the Disney Park Pass system. This is an important step to reserve the parks you'd like to visit on each day of your trip!
    • Take a peek at the Lightning Lane entrances offered through the Disney Genie+ service. You may want to opt to purchase the Disney Genie+ service for the Guests in your travel party, choose Individual Lightning Lane entrances, or both! This will help you to ride your favorite or most desired attractions, making for a pretty magical day.
    • If you really want to maximize your time at the parks, I'd highly recommend arriving before park opening. I LOVE mornings at Walt Disney World Resort, so I always try to arrive at the parks about 30-45 minutes before it officially opens. This way, when the parks do open, I can head straight to my favorite rides and attractions first thing in the morning. I've found that I can accomplish more in the first few hours of the day than I typically can for the whole rest of the day!
    • Be sure to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog and tune in to the planDisney Podcast to stay up-to-date on the newest offerings and best tips!
