Hi Barbra,
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Your magical vacation with your grandson is so close now!
My family has always loved exploring the China pavilion in the World Showcase at
Epcot. From the tastes of the
Lotus Blossom Cafe to the
Reflections of China film to performances by the
Jeweled Dragon Acrobats, the pavilion allows you to take a little trip to China with each visit.
The Lunar New Year falls on Saturday, January 25, in the middle of the 2020
Epcot International Festival of the Arts. In celebration of the new year and the arts, you will find candy artist Wenbo Zhang creating traditional Chinese candy art in the pavilion through February 24. According to the
Disney Parks Blog, you'll also find special Lunar New Year merchandise in the House of Good Fortune.
I'm not sure how old your grandson is, but if he's young, he may find it interesting to visit the
KidCot Fun Stop in China and talk to the cast members there about their country and the Spring Festival.
You never know when Walt Disney World will offer a magical extra, Barbra, so I would suggest that you check the Times Guide on the day of your Epcot visit, just in case there's a surprise for the Lunar New Year. And make sure you see the
House of the Whispering Willow exhibit, a fascinating insider look at Shanghai Disney, tucked into a gallery near the Reflections of China rotunda.
Happy New Year to you and your family. Enjoy!
Wilma
