Visiting Sep '12 w/ girls 6 & 7. Have resv at AKL, std room, club level w/ savannah view. I could change to Polynesian for a $200 more for std room only but have the advantage of proximity to parks/transportation, less time in buses. Is it worth it

Hi Thomas!  That is a great problem to have!  I don't think you would be disappointed in either option.  You may want to consider if there is a particular park that you think you will spend the most time at.  If you think you will be spending most of your days at Magic Kingdom, and only visiting Animal Kingdom one time, then you would probably love the convenience and time-saving qualities of the Polynesian.  The monorail to the Magic Kingdom is great, and you can also monorail hop over to Epcot too!

However, if park time will be about equal and your daughters are animal lovers, then you may want to keep the Animal Kingdom Lodge room.  Both resorts are amazing and offer similar perks (great pools, restaurants, etc.).  You may also want to consider the resort themes and determine which one is most suitable and enjoyable for your family-- The Hawaiin theme of The Polynesian, or the African theme of Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Personally, my boys both love Epcot the most of the four parks.  If we are there for a seven day trip, we will spend four of them at Epcot, so we stay at an Epcot area resort for that very reason.  We love all the parks, but it makes sense for us to stay at one of those.

You will be able to visit all of the Disney World areas with ease no matter which option you choose, so I wouldn't worry myself too much over it.  But I do understand that this will be a big financial and time commitment for your family and you want to make it the absolute best possible trip it can be.

I hope this helps!  Have a great time!!
