We are visiting in Sep Very excited to see Fantasmic! Should we do one of the restaurants for dinner with reserved seating for the show or is it better to eat wherever we want and wait in line for the show? If so, how early should we get in line?

I have totally changed my mind about the Fantasmic Dining Package since the first time I used it--and for the positive. Years ago, we purchased it and, although I was thankful I didn't have to wait an hour in in the heat, I didn't like the seats, which were low and off-center.

However, after purchasing the dining package for our trip last October, I was more than happy. First, it allowed us to save our Tier 1 FastPass+ for Toy Story Mania--a very popular ride that routinely has waits of over an hour. Second, for a minimal upcharge on a moderately-priced meal that offered an appetizer, entree (you could choose steak!) and a shared table desert at Mama Melrose's, we not only got to choose whatever we wanted from the menu, but we received tickets for reserved seats at Fantasmic. Best of all, the seats were right in the middle of the amphitheater! We could have arrived later than the 30 minutes-before-showtime that was recommended and still found a good spot in the section. I feel Mama Melrose's gives you the best value for the Fantasmic Dining Package, but the fact that it allows you to spend your FP+ on another attraction and saves you great seats, makes the package a no-brainer, no matter your restaurant selection.

If you decide to pass and stand in line for Fantasmic, I would recommend that you arrive for the show at least 45 minutes ahead of time so that you are not seated on the extreme wings of the amphitheater.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
