    I will be visiting the parks in october from the 28 till nov 3 I would like to see how I can be part of the parades. The animal kingdom parades have families on the floats how do you get to be part of these events ?

    Hi Tina!

    This is a great question.  Unfortunately, I do not have a good answer for you.  These are basically "magical moments" that happen to some very lucky guests purely by chance.  Disney Cast Members will approach randomly selected guests at various times throughout the day in the various parks for special opportunities, such as appearing in a parade.

    It is somewhat easier to be chosen to be the first family to open a park.  I say somewhat because it is still a completely random process, but to be selected the first step is to be one of the first guests at the park before it opens.  For example, you might want to show up at the Magic Kingdom 60 to 90 minutes before park opening.  It has been suggested that members of a party all be color coordinated or wear a similar shirt, but I have seen a lot of parties selected who haven't dressed that way.  It probably does help to be enthusiastic and to chat with any Disney Cast Member that appears to want to talk!  In the end, it really comes down to being at the right place at the right time.
