Hi Lisa,
Welcome, and thank you for bringing your question to planDisney! First off, I'm so sorry to hear about your injury, and I wish you a speedy recovery! Thankfully, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the
Walt Disney World Resort, even if you have
accessibility/mobility issues and can’t move around like you usually do!
For your visit, you’ll be happy to know that renting an
Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV), or scooter, is a simple process. ECV rentals are available at all four theme parks, Disney Springs, and the water parks on a first-come, first-served basis. You'll find the rental locations near the park entrances. Prices for daily ECV rentals are currently $65 (subject to change), plus a refundable deposit. You can use the ECV within the park or at the location you rented it from, but it must be returned at the end of the day. If you're planning to hop between parks, you can leave your ECV at the exit and, with your rental receipt, pick up another at the next park at no additional charge (based on availability).
If you'd prefer an ECV for your entire stay, several vendors in the Disney World vicinity deliver directly to your Disney Resort hotel. These vendors offer multi-day rentals, and you can take the ECV anywhere across Walt Disney World property, including Disney buses, boats, and monorails. This option can be incredibly convenient for Guests who need assistance throughout their vacation, not just once they arrive at the parks, and it is a quick Google search away.
Now, let’s talk about watching fireworks while enjoying a delicious meal! The
Happily Ever After fireworks show at Magic Kingdom Park is a must-see, and there are some great dining options to enhance your viewing experience. If you'd like to stay within the park, I recommend booking one of the
Enchanting Extras Collection Dessert Parties. These events not only offer an assortment of delicious treats but also provide a prime viewing spot for the fireworks without having to stake out a spot in advance.
Alternatively, two fantastic restaurants come to mind if you'd prefer to enjoy dinner while watching the show from outside the park.
California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort offers stunning views of Happily Ever After from its balcony, with the fireworks music being piped in to complete the experience. If you can book a reservation just before the show, you will have a fantastic dinner and a core memory to last a lifetime. Another excellent option is
Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. If you don’t have a seat right by the window during the fireworks show, you can step out onto the dock and enjoy a breathtaking view of the fireworks across Seven Seas Lagoon. I was fortunate enough to dine at Narcoosee’s during the fireworks on my last visit, and the view from my table inside was just as amazing as being front and center at Cinderella’s Castle.
I hope this answers your questions, Lisa. If you have any more questions,
we’re always here to help!
Cheers!
Brent
