Hi Tessa,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking another question! My little guy’s first visit to Walt Disney World Resort was when he was five and a half months old and it was probably my favourite visit of all time. There was something extra magical about seeing Disney through his eyes and the pictures of us enjoying the Parks as a family are some of my most prized possessions.
One of my happiest memories was watching
IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth with my son. We were standing in World Showcase, near Mexico, ready to make a quick getaway to the
Baby Care Center in case he didn’t like the show and we needed to find a quiet place until it was over. Well, his eyes got really big at the first few fireworks, but a few minutes in, he was giggling and clapping his pudgy little hands in delight! Because of the long break in the middle of the show, I think it’s a great first show for a baby.
Of course,
Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom Park is my favourite show, so I think it would be a good choice too, although it’s a bit longer and you do have to set aside more time to find the perfect viewing location. An idea for having a bit of space for your little guy would be to reserve the
Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing for your upcoming visit. That way, you can enjoy some tasty treats, and then have a reserved area for your family to comfortably see the show. I was all about making things easier on myself when I visited with my son when he was really small, so that might be a great option for you, budget permitting.
Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
