We are visiting the parks January 1-5, 2018 and are very excited but complete novices on Disney. Will there still be holiday decorations up at this time? Do holiday parades and fireworks continue at this time of year or will those be over.

Hello Sharyn and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
How wonderful to know you've a magical early January visit to Walt Disney World Resort to look forward right after the Holidays are over! I can just imagine how excited you must be feeling now your trip is right around the river bend.
Generally speaking Disney Holiday decor begins to disappEar for another yEar right after New Years... so I believe you may well witness a magical transformation as it happens; in fact I was lucky enough to be staying at Walt Disney World Resort this past October 31st into early November and saw the exciting change from Not So Scary to Oh So Merry!
It's easy to check schedules for Parades, Fireworks and such via this handy Park Hours & Calendars link and as far as I can currently see from 1st January 2018 you'll be able to enjoy yEar round favourites like Happily Ever AfterDisney's Festival of Fantasy ParadeIllumiNations; Reflections of EarthDisney Movie MagicRivers of Light and so on...
Wishing you an extra pixie dusted upcoming January visit to Walt Disney World Resort.
