Hi Albert,
Welcome back to planDisney! Thanks for continuing to trust us with your planning questions. Your Disneyland vacation is just around the corner! I’ve had the pleasure of staying at the
Grand Californian, and let me tell you — you’re in for a treat! I love the hotel’s rustic charm and its prime location.
As you mentioned,
renovations are underway at the Grand Californian that has caused the normal entrance into
California Adventure to close. However, there is a temporary entrance — previously reserved for Pixar Place Hotel guests — that has been extended to all Resort Hotel guests. All you need to do is head down to the main lobby of the hotel, and there should be signs near the check-in desk directing you to the new entrance that runs along the side of the hotel. Once you go through security, you’ll enter directly into the
Paradise Gardens area of the park. Hopefully, Disney stays on track with renovations and you’ll be able to use the typical park entrance that leads into
Grizzly Peak by the time you arrive. If not, you still have a direct entrance into California Adventure.
Now for a little extra pixie dust: I noticed your visit coincides with
Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration! Be sure to check out the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest sneak peeks and special offerings. You might just discover a
commemorative treat,
entertainment, or
irresistible merchandise that will become your new favorite Disney memory. I know for sure I’ll have to come home with a
new spirit jersey and an amazing popcorn bucket!
I hope this helps keep your planning running smoothly, Albert! If you have any more questions or need additional planning tips, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We’re always here to sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your vacation.
Have a magical vacation!
