Elizabeth from VA Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

We are visiting the parks for 2 days. The first day is my daughter's birthday and she is turning 10. Does she need an adult ticket? Are there any perks for the Birthday Girl?

    Hi Elizabeth!

Congratulations on your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World! When you buy tickets to Walt Disney World, you will notice that tickets are sold in two categories: ages 10 and up are sold at an "adult" price and ages 3-9 are sold at a "children" price. Since your daughter will be ten years old when she visits, she will need an adult ticket.

There are so many wonderful activities for your birthday girl to enjoy! First, when you arrive, make sure to ask for a complimentary Happy Birthday button. She will enjoy hearing greetings of "Happy Birthday" all day long!

You can also book Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) 180 days in advance. Make a note that you are celebrating her birthday on your reservation. Disney Floral and Gifts offers many birthday gifts that you can order in advance. There are many options, including Mickey's Ultimate Birthday Celebration, which comes with a birthday banner for your door, treats and toys. You can also choose a birthday cake, in either chocolate or vanilla, and have it delivered to your room.

Call the cake hotline at 407-934-3500 to order a cake before you arrive and arrange to have it delivered to the restaurant in which you will be dining.

Wish your daughter happy birthday from the Disney Moms Panel!
